Ingredients
4 large russet potatoes
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Old Bay
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Chop the tops off of the potatoes and slice down the middle. Create fries about 1/4” thick. Steak fries should be cut into small wedges about 3/4” to 1” thick.
- Soak the cut fries in a bowl of water for a minimum of 30 minutes to remove extra starches (this helps with crispiness).
- Thoroughly pat dry the fries before seasoning.
- Oil and season the fries. Spread evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake fries for 10 minutes at 400°F.
- For another 30 minutes or until just crisp, bake fries at 430°F (thicker fries will take longer).
- This is a good time to roast other vegetables (Roasted Garlic Brussels Sprouts and Roasted Brussel Sprouts are good examples)
Notes
- Goes well with Hamburgers.
