Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Old Bay

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Chop the tops off of the potatoes and slice down the middle. Create fries about 1/4” thick. Steak fries should be cut into small wedges about 3/4” to 1” thick.
  3. Soak the cut fries in a bowl of water for a minimum of 30 minutes to remove extra starches (this helps with crispiness).
  4. Thoroughly pat dry the fries before seasoning.
  5. Oil and season the fries. Spread evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake fries for 10 minutes at 400°F.
  7. For another 30 minutes or until just crisp, bake fries at 430°F (thicker fries will take longer).
